Free Evening for Educators

Thursday, August 16
6:00-8:00 p.m.

Join us at 6pm for refreshments and then take a trip through San Antonio’s past with an exploration of Confluence and Culture: 300 Years of San Antonio History. While there, experience the powerful new Gallery Theater piece, “Ode to Juneteenth,” by acclaimed playwright Eugene Lee. Following the performance, hear from Mr. Charles Gentry, Ph.D., Ode to Juneteenth Director as he discusses the process from page to stage. From there, travel to the HEB Body Adventure Children’s Hospital of San Antonio Demonstration Kitchen to get your hands dirty experiencing a portion of Tortillas: A San Antonio Story, a new program developed for the Tricentennial. End the evening with quiet reflection in Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors, presented by Zachry Group and generously supported by The USAA Foundation, Inc. and discover how this special exhibition can foster discussion in character education. Educators receive 2 hours of CPE credit. This event is free, but registration is required.
