The original Hertzberg Elephant was created by the cast stone artist Julian Sandoval in 1935. The elephant was a gift for Harry Hertzberg from his longtime friend Tom Scaperlanda, a San Antonio jeweler and avid circus fan. It is one of five cast from the original mold. |
