Tiffany Vase, around 1900

These pieces of Tiffany glass are examples of one of the ways that something becomes part of the Witte Museum Collection. Thomas J. Parker grew up in San Antonio and loved the Witte. He left his treasured collection of Tiffany glass, given to him by his grandfather who worked for Tiffany for many years, to the Witte in his will.

Tiffany Vase

Louis Comfort Tiffany was the son of renowned New York jeweler, Charles Tiffany. Louis, after studying art in New York and Paris, decided to specialize in glass. His opened Tiffany Glass Company in 1885.
