Members are no longer "In the Dark" about this terrific exhibit!

A good time was had by all at the opening. They found it fun and educational.

About 750 people turned out Saturday, Feb. 11, to be the first to experience Discovering Hidden Worlds: In the Dark. Sunday saw another 400 visitors, to get the three-month run of this exhibit off to a good start. It is filled with fun, interactive learning stations that are easy to use and also reward those who spend the extra time to examine them closely.

Experience the world as a bat by seeing with your ears instead of with your eyes.
Experiment with life as a jellyfish by bringing this model into balance.
Close the door and you're in the dark, to try to make things work with only your sense of touch.
You can explore many interactive learning experiences about animals and how they function without light.

Parents and children can interact with the environments and learn together in the dark.

All the interactive components are easily within the reach of children, and the instructions are easy to understand.

Be a jellyfish and try to maintain your equilibrium in the ocean.
Find out what lives underground in this cross section of the earth below our feet.

Don't let the little critters startle you. They're harmless.
