Time, Space and Galileo in the International Year of Astronomy
Sunday, June 21, 2 p.m.
Join us in a celebration of the International Year of Astronomy in collaboration with the McDonald Observatory, University of Texas at Austin. Meet astronomer Neal Evans, Chair Astronomy Department, for an exciting
discussion about the relationship between astronomy and time. Evans will also fill us in on the 2009 International Year of Astronomy, celebrating 400 years since Galileo’s first use of an astronomical telescope, leading to current understandings of time and space. A Night at the Witte Camp-In:

Good Times for Families

Time is of the essence! Join us for an exploration of time elements through hands-on activities for the entire family. Then head to the Playing with Time exhibit and examine sights that are too fast or too slow for the human eye to see including popping corn kernels, flowers blooming, seeds sprouting, light from space and growing old. Amazing Skies is coming to the Witte!
Saturday, July 19, 12 noon - 5 pm
Experience outer space right in our back yard! This exciting event will feature NASA astronauts, hands-on activities, space exhibits and feature presentations for the whole family. Meet former NASA Astronaut Rick Hieb and shoot model rockets in this informative and exciting atmosphere. There is a $1 surcharge to this event.
