Progress on the SkyCycle

The second hole is dug and rebar is tied.
With forms and rebar in place, the workers begin to fill the hole with cement.
Filling continues.
The third hole will provide a foundation for the stairs.
What's Going on Inside?

Project director Dennis Bartz is happy to see the newly refinished exhibits back on the floor. A lot of reassembling and positioning is yet to be done.

On the right is one of five stations which feature The Way Things Work science discovery computer modules.

The Colorful Change.

Exhibits on the second floor, in Eco-Science, sport bright greens and yellows. The more popular exhibits have been restored and refinished.

Special areas include Small World Science, where smaller children can play at their own level ... ... and the CPS Energy Underground, in the basement, will be a continually-developing themed area.

Repair of a retaining wall on the banks of rhe San Antonio River, across from the H-E-B Science Treehouse, will add to the beauty of the view from the Witte backyard. The City Parks Department has crews building a barrier to keep water from the wall while repairs are made.
Rebar is tied in place prior to building the retaining wall.
Workers make sure the rebar superstructure is properly installed.
The stone retaining wall is starting to take shape.
