The H-E-B Science Treehouse offers hands-on science fun for all ages!

The view of Brackenridge Park and the San Antonio River
from the Treehouse prow is beautiful to the naked eye or with a small telescope.

Science for the fun of it

Science is all about asking questions and then experimenting. The
H-E-B Science Treehouse offers four levels of fun and experimentation with Energy, Air Power, Simple Machines, Eco-Science, Weather, and Sound Waves. Try out the hands-on exhibits and see how science is used in the “real world.” Small World Science offers a chance for young children (with adults) to explore science too!

How do you experiment or use science in your everyday life?

DON’T MISS the H·E·Buddy SkyCycle

You cannot fall off!

The counterweight on the bottom of the cycle lowers the center of gravity making the cycle stable. The weight below the cycle is heavier than you are and pulls the cycle firmly on to the rail.

In the water works area, a real two-story treehouse, created by Carlos Cortes, is made with concrete to simulate wood. The treehouse overlooks the San Antonio River and is connected to the main H-E-B Science Treehouse by elevated walkways. Outdoor water exhibits feed directly from the San Antonio River and include an Archimedes screw, diversion gates and water wheels.

A special nook in the Treehouse allows
smaller children to play at their own level.
