Summer Adventure Camp
Day-long adventures for children in grades 1-2 and 3-5.

Cost per week is $180 for members and $230 for non-members; cost per day is $45 for members and $55 for non-members. Children may be dropped off at 8:30 a.m.

Science Works: The Body in Action!
Monday, July 8 – Friday, July 12
Jump into the science of how your body works! Build with levers and pulleys to discover how your body is like a machine. Mix chemicals to see how your body digests food. Explore the science of your body in action through parkour — a twisting, rolling, diving and dodging experience. Challenge yourself with brain-powered games then relax with yoga, gardening and art. It’s all about science!
Monday: Body Machine
Explore how your body works like a machine. Build muscles and joints to see how levers and pulleys help move your body. Then put your body into action on the Move It floor and Mt. Witte and more.
Tuesday: Challenge your Balance
Build your balance and pick up your pace. Investigate how balance and motion can change the way you run, jump and play.
Wednesday: Eating for Energy
Discover how food turns into energy. Measure your body temperature to find out how your body uses food to heat you up. Mix chemicals, mess with enzymes, and take a bite out of chemistry!
Thursday: Boost your Brain
See, touch, smell and taste your way through brain-power experiments. Guess mystery scents, sample jelly beans to test your memory, solve brain puzzles and learn how food and exercise can boost your brain.
Friday: Soothing and Grooving
Relax and unwind with basic yoga moves, breathing techniques and practice pebble meditation. Listen and dance to some classic summertime hits and create your own Zen art.

Did dinosaurs fly? Were dinosaurs colorful? Meet the ferocious and feathered Gigantoraptor! See how frills, plates and crowns helped dinosaurs survive. Each day this week you will become a paleontologist to unearth new discoveries that will amaze your brain! Dig for tracks and fossils, cast the remains of other ancient creatures and examine “living fossils” that have been around for ages!
Monday: Deep Time
Explore the geologic history of the ancient world, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Create your own timeline using trace fossils.
Tuesday: Dino or Dino Not?
Examine different types of ancient creatures and discover how to use the scientific definition of what makes a dinosaur to determine if it fits the description.
Wednesday: Paleontologist at Work!
Discover how paleontologists work in the field by locating tracks and developing a likely scenario of what might have happened at that spot.
Thursday: Forever Fossils
Create your own fossils from teeth or claws and discover how dinosaurs use those defenses.
Friday: Dino-mite Discoveries
Discover new dinosaur data to determine if dinosaurs communicate, what they sounded like and what evidence we have of dinosaurs with feathers.
