60th Annual Texas Watercolor |
March 7 - March 22, 2009
The Witte Museum is hosting the Texas Watercolor Society's 60th anniversary exhibit. Nationally known educator and author, Pat Dews, is the juror for the exhibit which draws hundreds of entries from throughout the United States. This year's exhibit features 59 watercolor paintings, including the winner Cupcake Falls, by San Antonio artist Ric Dentinger. The TWS was founded in 1949 by San Antonio's own Margaret Pace Willson and Amy Freeman Lee with the mission to advance the art of painting in watercolors, and hold annual exhibitions of watercolor paintings—which were exhibited at the Witte Museum from 1950 until 1970.
