A Royal Garden

dress3April 15 - September 24, 2010
Betty Coates Textile Gallery

The Witte's 2010 Fiesta exhibition showcases gowns from several courts of the Order of the Alamo Coronations, inspired by elements found in gardens including flowers, trees, small creatures and fountains.

A highlight of the exhibition includes Princess Emily Denman's train from the 1968 Coronation, the Court of Festivals. Her train of lilac velvet is decorated with butterflies hovering over a pool filled with lily pads, surrounded by several frogs, a small rabbit and flowers. This train is the basis for the 2010 Witte Fiesta pin.

This exhibit is included with museum admission.

The Witte Museum is pleased to note that Carol Canty and Sallie Thomas are Guest Curators for A Royal Garden.

A Royal Garden is generously supported by the Fiesta® San Antonio Commission, Inc.
