The Witte Museum does not provide appraisals. You can find an appraiser in your area through one of these national appraisal organizations:

Can you tell me how to find a conservator?

The American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works can help you locate a conservator that specializes in the type of conservation your artifact needs. They also provide helpful tips on preserving your family treasures.

How do I make an appointment to do research in the archives?

Complete the reference request form, and the archivist will assist you in locating possible materials of interest prior to your visit and reserve a desk for you in the reading room.

How do I make an appointment to see a specific artifact?

Complete the research request form to request access to the collection. Access is granted at the discretion of the President and CEO, Curator, Collections Manager or designated staff member.

How does the Witte Museum decide what it collects?

The Witte Museum collects material that supports its mission as outlined in the Museum’s Collection Plan.

How do I donate an artifact to the Witte Museum?

How do I get information about an object donated to the museum by a relative?

The Witte Museum keeps records on all items in its collection. To learn more about an item donated by a family member, please contact the Registrar.

Does the Witte Museum lend artifacts to other museums?

Yes, the Witte Museum frequently lends items from its collection to museums around the country. To learn more about our loan procedures, see our Collection Policy. Loan requests can be directed our Registrar.

What do I need to do if I want to reproduce an image from the Witte Museum collection?

Requests to reproduce images of items in the collection or intellectual property created by the Museum such as exhibitions or publications in print, film, or electronic media are handled by the Registrar. To order an image please review the fee schedule and fill out the image request form.
