The word originated with a cattle branding story about a San Antonio resident and a Texas Declaration of Independence signer, Samuel Maverick. Learn about the man behind the word and how Maverick has made an impact in this intriguing exhibition is based on Lewis Fisher’s upcoming book MAVERICK: The American Name That Became a Legend, to be released from Trinity University Press in September 2017.
