“Healthy Family = Happy Family”

Ever since I refocused on a healthy lifestyle, I have noticed the results trickling down to my children. These are great way to get your children involved in healthy living too:

  • Sugary cereals are no longer on the breakfast menu, they’ve been replaced with more healthy items like oatmeal.
  • When we go to the grocery store we avoid packaged items like pastries and instead the children pick fruit items for their school snacks, including bananas, apples, or grapes.
  • At dinner time, include the kids with menu planning–I was pleasantly surprised when my son came up and asked “what healthy items are we having for dinner tonight?”
  • Eating dinner as a family is a great way to avoid fast food and share family time.  Having more family dinners has pulled my family back together!
