Journey deep into the Lower Pecos Canyonlands for the Witte’s 29th annual Rock Art Rendezvous. Enjoy a weekend of exploration, camping, stargazing and togetherness at the White Shaman Preserve and other area rock art sites.
This year, experience the region’s ancient and awe-inspiring murals through the eyes of Mary Virginia Carson, the artist who captured some of these powerful narratives during the Witte’s 1931 expeditions. Retrace Carson’s steps as you explore the artistry and significance of Lower Pecos rock art murals, guided by expert-led tours that connect you to the stories painted onto these canyon walls thousands of years ago.
