The Robot Zoo

Step inside a wild world where animals become giant machines and science feels like play.

The Robot Zoo transforms familiar creatures into larger-than-life mechanical marvels, revealing how nature works through engineering. From piston muscles to computer brains, this hands-on adventure brings biomechanics to life in bold and unforgettable ways.

Meet three towering robotic animals, a chameleon, a platypus, and a housefly, and discover how real animals see, move, hunt, and survive. Launch a sticky robotic tongue, operate independent chameleon eyes, test reaction speed against a fly, cling to a wall like an insect, and invent brand-new creatures in interactive design stations.

Each experience breaks down complex biology into gears, levers, pumps, and circuits you might find in your own home.

Located inside the beloved H-E-B Science Treehouse, which first opened in the 1997, The Robot Zoo blends bold retro energy with timeless scientific discovery. Remember exploring the Science Treehouse as a kid? Bring your family and rediscover the wonder together.
