Grow Wonder.

The Witte Museum was founded by Ellen Schulz Quillin, a schoolteacher and botanist, with a goal of starting a museum for the growing city of San Antonio and providing her students with access to the natural world.

In 1925, Quillin organized her students and others in the community to sell bluebonnet seeds and used the funds to buy the Witte’s founding collection, the H.P. Attwater Collection of natural history.

Your gift today to Seeds of Wonder will continue this legacy. Plant the seeds of curiosity and exploration in nature, science and culture for generations to come.

Thank you for your support of the Witte! Your gift helps Nature, Science and Culture in our community BLOOM.

The Witte Museum is closed due to inclement weather from 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24 through noon on Monday, January 26. We'll see you again soon!
