No matter what your interest, you will find a fun and exciting volunteer opportunity at the Witte Museum. Whether you are in your teens, retired or an adult with some extra time and want to learn new things and share your talents with others, the Witte Museum wants you! In addition to being able to spend time at the Witte as a volunteer, the following are a few of the many benefits you receive in return for giving selflessly of your time and talents: * Receive a Witte Museum Family Membership after giving 50 hours of service during a year Current positions available: INTERPRETIVE VOLUNTEERS focus on specific collections or exhibits and facilitate hands-on activities with guests. Specific duties include being able to answer questions and provide information on the exhibits in question. Volunteers are trained in the content area of specific exhibits and may work on weekdays, weekends, Tuesday evenings or special events. SPECIAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS assist in a variety of ways, from passing out programs for a concert performance to helping with exhibit opening parties. These volunteers are called upon to help as events are scheduled which may occur on evenings and weekends. SCHOOL PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS assist with facilitation of scheduled group programs for school children. School Group Programs are age-specific (K-12) and are complimentary to the museum's collection, exhibits and state education standards. The programs are held on weekday morning. Volunteers for these programs complete extensive training to acquaint them with the collection and activities. This program requires dependable individuals who can make a substantial time commitment.
