Space Food 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m.

What can you eat in space? How can astronauts grow a garden in the space capsule? Inspired by the Surviving Space: Astronauts and Asteroids special exhibition, this session explores the food astronauts take with them to space. From dehydrated snacks to cooked meals to raw ingredients, find out what kinds of food fuels space explorers at Homeschool Day!

Rocket Fuel • 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. & 2:30 p.m.

How do rockets make it to space? Inspired by the Surviving Space: Astronauts and Asteroids special exhibition, this hands-on workshop explores the chemistry and physics of rockets. You will experiment with chemical reactions to identify the ideal chemical balance to launch a film canister rocket.
