SAN ANTONIO, Texas (November 29, 2022) – Zeb Hogan, National Geographic Fellow and host of the Nat Geo WILD series “Monster Fish,” will be at the Witte Museum this weekend speaking with visitors in connection with the exhibition “Monster Fish: In Search of the Last River Giants.” Hogan has spent nearly two decades searching for and studying the rare, large freshwater fish species profiled in the exhibition. This weekend visitors have multiple opportunities to interact with him as they learn about the critical role monster fish play in the ecosystem:

  • On Saturday, December 3 from 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Hogan will be in the “Monster Fish” exhibition interacting and answering visitor questions for “Saturdays with a Scientist.”
  • On Sunday, December 4, Hogan will sign books at the Witte Museum Holiday Market from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and participate in the “STEAM Sunday: River Giants” program at 1:30 p.m.

Hogan, who is also a research biologist at the University of Nevada—Reno, is on a global expedition to find some of the world’s largest fish. In each episode of Nat Geo WILD series “Monster Fish,” Hogan immerses himself in a local culture, where fishing is often more than a sport or even a profession—it’s a way of life. Throughout the “Monster Fish” exhibition, visitors can watch clips of his encounters with sawfish, sturgeon, catfish and other monster fish as Hogan travels the world in search of the “last river giants.”

Admission tickets can be reserved online at www.WitteMuseum.org/MonsterFish. The museum’s new “Family Plus Membership” gives members unlimited, free access to exhibitions requiring a special ticket, including National Geographic’s “Monster Fish: In Search of the Last River Giants.”
