Witte Museum hosts a ‘Dinosaur Family Reunion’ on July 8

People of all ages can participate in interactive dinosaur activities across the Witte Museum campus.

Day coincides with ‘Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family’ and ‘Antarctic Dinosaurs’ special exhibitions.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (July 6, 2023) – Dinosaurs have taken over the Witte! Join the deluge of dinosaurs and immerse yourself in the world of paleontology during the Witte Museum’s 2023 Dinosaur Family Reunion. Visit dinosaur-related activity booths across the museum campus, explore two special exhibitions—Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family and Antarctic Dinosaursand have a paleontologist at the Witte help identify your fossil/rock finds. The Dinosaur Family Reunion is at the Witte Museum from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 8. Additional information can be found at WitteMuseum.org/Events.

The Dinosaur Family Reunion offers opportunities to engage with experts, learn how paleontologists work and do fun dinosaur-related activities. The day features many hands-on activities from the Witte Museum and community partners, including Government Canyon State Natural Area, Texas Memorial Museum on UT Austin Campus and The Heritage Museum of Texas Hill Country. Visitors can also bring a rock or fossil specimen from home to have paleontologist and geologist Dr. Thomas Adams help identify their findings.

This summer the Witte Museum hosts two special exhibitions highlighting dinosaurs from deep in time. Step back into the past and discover Antarctic Dinosaurs where you’ll learn about Antarctica’s past and join the thrilling hunt for never-before-seen fossils. Then, explore the latest tyrannosaur discoveries as you meet Scotty—the world’s largest T. rex—in Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family.

All Dinosaur Family Reunion activities are included with Museum Admission. Tickets can be reserved online at WitteMuseum.org. Additional tickets are required for Antarctic Dinosaurs and Tyrannosaurs: Meet the Family, with a “See It All Pass” saving you $5 off regular prices.
